Kevin Stack

Kevin works as a builder, building scientist, and eco literacy educator to teach, support design, and Build in Nature’s Image™. He is founder and CEO of Northeast Natural Homes and Northeast Green Building Consulting, affiliated companies that focus on innovation and sustainability for homes and human-built environments based on building science, biomimicry, resilience, and the sciences of life.

He builds, supports the design, and verifies the performance of innovative, sustainable and affordable construction projects, including complex and unique residential and mixed use projects. He is a credentialed LEED for Homes Green Rater, LEED AP+Homes, certified HERS Rater, ICC 700-2012 National Green Standard Verifier, and Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified Building Analyst and Envelope Professional. Kevin also trained as a Biologist at the Design Table (BaDT) and gives presentations on biomimicry, resilience, and how to build homes based on life’s laws using traditional and scientific ecological knowledge. He is a frequent presenter and trainer at national conferences, and he currently serves on the 2014 USGBC national Board of Directors, representing the residential construction community. He has won national recognition for his work, including being named as a nominee for the 2009 Hanley Award for Vision and Leadership in Sustainable Housing, and receiving the National Consortium of Housing Research Center’s first Excellence in Building Science Education.
