Get Trained and Certified

Green Advantage® Certification requires that you demonstrate a basic knowledge of green construction concepts, materials, and practices by passing the Green Advantage® Exam with a score of 75% or higher.

Certification is based on an established set of standards, and is overseen and judged by a board of experts who make up the Green Advantage® Certification Board.

The Certification Exam Fee is $125. In the event that you are unable to attend the scheduled testing session following your training, arrangements can be made for you to take the Exam at a participating community testing site. There is an additional fee of approximately $35 for these services, payable to the testing center.  The study guide, which you receive upon exam registration, is updated quarterly.  If you do not take the exam within 90 days of registering, you should request an updated study guide.  Contact Gina at ginac@greenadvantage.org to request an updated study guide.

The Green Advantage® Certification Exam covers:

  • sustainability and green building
  • materials
  • indoor environmental quality
  • water
  • site and land use
  • energy
