John Spears is the president of Sustainable Design Group Inc. (SDG) in Gaithersburg Maryland and an internationally recognized expert in energy conservation, renewable energy systems, indoor air quality and sustainable design. Since 1973, he has been providing design and consulting services in the areas of residential and commercial building energy conservation, renewable energy systems, "Green Building" design, indoor air quality and sustainable community development. He also is the Director of the International Center for Sustainable Development (ICSD). ICSD develops sustainable communities in developing countries.
