People Involved - Grady O'Rear

Grady O'Rear is the developer of EcoVillage of Loudoun County, Virginia, an environmentally friendly, socially responsive community 40 miles northwest of Washington , D.C. More information about the community can be found at www.ecovillages.com. He is also President of Green Advantage, Inc. a non-profit organization that, through education and research, advances sustainable development practices www.greenadvantage.org.

He was formerly the founding President and CEO of a comprehensive, non-profit, mental health organization. Named as a "Point of Light" by the White House, the agency offers treatment, rehabilitation, transportation and housing services and has developed over 50 homes and two commercial facilities. The 30,000 square foot rehabilitation and national training and education center, built in 1991, is considered one of the country's most energy efficient office buildings.

His education includes a B.A. in Education and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology.
