It is imperative that every country in the world develop strong philosophical and organizational commitment, in both the public and private sectors, to green building.
Green Advantage® recognizes the importance and immediacy of this challenge. In response, GA is guided by the following values:
Environmental certifications need to be designed in a culturally sensitive manner
“Ownership” of environmental certifications needs to be maximized by public and private stakeholders within a given country
Environmental certification offerings to building-related practitioners, owned and operated by transparent, third-party groups in a given nation, are optimally implemented and developed independently of GA
Development of national GBC’s and strengthening of the WorldGBC’s organization and aims are highly desirable
These values inform Green Advantage’s desire to be responsive and deliberate in reaching out to other countries in an effort to catalyze the development of environmental certifications for building-related practitioners. GA wishes to be more systematically available to these countries to provide the following two categories of services:
Consultation in development of environmental certification programs for building-related practitioners, or, in countries where this is not desirable or feasible,
Provision of GA environmental certifications to building-related practitioners through modification and direct provision of its program offerings
