About GA Certification

Candidates for Green Advantage® Certification demonstrate general knowledge, comprehension, and the ability to analyze green construction concepts, materials, and practices by passing a Green Advantage (GA) Exam in order to become certified. Emphasis is given to construction field practices as they relate to the role construction personnel have in improving the environmental and health attributes of the built environment.

This three-year renewable certification is designed to enhance project collaboration, increase the ability to meet or exceed environmental goals, and offer individuals a meaningful way to differentiate themselves within the construction industry. The GA Slideshow is a great place to start learning about the many confirmed benefits of adding a Green Advantage Credential to your green tool box.

"As a Green Advantage Certified Practitioner, many professionals from the architect to the masons to the plumbers to the framers rely on my green building expertise. I am able to contribute my green expertise to make adjustments and implement processes that highlight and facilitate the green building process as it pertains to their part of construction. Each member of the team must be willing to learn and grow and look at the entire home building process holistically. Finding those team members is challenging, but once you do, the process of delivering a green home solution to home buyers is extraordinarily rewarding. Teamwork equals green homebuilding success!”
