When you report to take the exam, you will need to present the ID issued by CES after your training session.

This course prepares you to pass the Green Advantage® dual certification exam.  It is a comprehensive review of the information needed to pass the exam.  We will review topics such as (1) Sustainable construction and what it means to the contractor (2) Benefits of being a Green Advantage Contractor (3) Introduction and review of the relationship of the LEED process, overview of the credits, and credit intents and strategies used by the contractor to comply (4) Practice sample questions including the solutions.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the relationship between the green environment and building practices

  • Identify the impact of decisions on the green environment

  • Identify green alternatives to conventional practice for major aspects of built facilities

  • Describe the cost and benefits/pros and cons

  • Identify specific practices you can implement to consider the green environment

  • Describe what a green building rating system is and what it's used for

  • Describe the LEED rating process and outcomes

  • Identify construction activities you do that contribute to a project's LEED rating

After the course, upon successful completion of the Certification Exam, students will be issued a Green Advantage® Commercial/Residential certificate.  When you report to take the exam, you will need to present the ID issued by CES after your training session.

In the event that you are unable to attend the scheduled testing session following this training, arrangements can be made for you to take the Open Book Exam at another participating testing site. There is an additional fee of approximately $35 for these services. Exams must be taken within 1 year of registration.  Contact Gina at ginac@greenadvantage.org to make alternative testing arrangements.
